The Victorian Stroke Telemedicine team launches new app in Ballarat

Green means Go! The Florey and Ambulance Victoria are trialling a new smart phone app called Pulsara, which paramedics use to notify hospital emergency departments about incoming stroke or heart attack patients. This saves crucial time, which means fewer heart and brain cells are killed or damaged, dramatically improving outcomes for patients.

We have previously shown that every minute saved in treating stroke with clot-busting drugs gives patients up to a day of extra disability-free life, and up to week when the clot is physically removed.
