Dr Timothy Aumann BSc (Hons) PhD (Monash)

Research Fellow / Lab Head — Behavioural Neuroscience

Tim Aumann is a neuroscientist with 21 years’ experience. He is currently a Research Fellow on Faculty at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health (FINMH) where he heads the Midbrain Dopamine Plasticity Laboratory. Prior to this he was a Neurosciences Victoria Research Fellow at FINMH (2003-2005), a post-doc in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, University of Washington, Seattle, USA (1999-2003), and a post-doc in the Department of Anatomy, Monash University (1995-1998).

Tim Aumann’s technical expertise is electrophysiology and neuroanatomy. His research interests are midbrain dopamine neurotransmitter plasticity, brain plasticity generally, and neural control of movement.
