Senior Research Fellow - Motor Neuron Disease

An excellent opportunity is available for an outstanding and highly motivated individual to join a large team of enthusiastic researchers as a Stafford Fox Senior Research Fellow within the Motor Neuron Disease (MND) Laboratory at our Parkville facility.  This individual will primarily be responsible for management and execution of research projects involving in vitro, animal and MND patient-based models, in addition to their own independent research program.  The successful applicant will play an important role in research grant applications, publications, mentoring of postdoctoral researchers and supervision of postgraduate students.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in neuroscience with relevant expertise in molecular and cellular biology and/or animal models, and at least 5 years postdoctoral experience in MND research. Candidates require an established track record in obtaining national and/or international competitive peer-reviewed research funding and publications in the MND field as lead investigator.

An indicative Level C position and salary in the range of $111,176 to $128,194 commensurate on experience plus 14%/17% superannuation and generous salary packaging options. Please refer to the attached Position Description for further details.
