Dr Riley Cridge

Biography
Dr Riley Cridge is a postdoctoral researcher with a background in biochemistry/pharmacology and has a particular interest in G Protein-Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) as drug targets. GPCRs are a large family of membrane proteins that are ubiquitous in the human body and are implicated in a vast array of physiological functions, diseases, and disorders. Thus, these proteins are of great interest as therapeutic targets.
In 2021, Dr Cridge completed his PhD at The Florey where he co-invented technology that allowed rapid engineering of GPCRs – breaking down traditional barriers for GPCR drug discovery. This technology, and related intellectual property, is now licensed into spin-out company LASEREDD Therapeutics Pty Ltd (LASEREDDtx). Riley’s work for LASEREDDtx and the Drug Discovery Innovation Group at The Florey aims to develop next-generation therapeutics to treat a range of neurological conditions.
