Digital - Social Media Communicator

The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health employs more than 400 people who are passionately committed to researching the way the brain works. We are internationally renowned for our discoveries and research on the central nervous system and associated brain disorders. Key areas of interest include addiction, Alzheimer’s disease, cardiovascular disease, depression, epilepsy, Huntington’s disease, motor neuron disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, stroke and traumatic and spinal cord injury.

An excellent opportunity is available for a highly motivated individual to join an outstanding team of scientists at the Florey Institute and work within the Stroke Division at our Austin facility.  The role will primarily be responsible for assisting with the internal and external communications of the Stroke Division. These external communications are intended to enhance the profile of the Stroke Division and its research to both scientific and lay audiences.  Internal communications are intended to enhance the knowledge of all staff members and to encourage collaboration.

The incumbent requires excellent proficiency in digital media, Windows applications and relevant software packages. A degree in science and/or experience working in a medical research organization is required together with demonstrated organization skills and willingness and ability to keep up to date with technical developments in order to recommend improvements to work processes and practices.

The Florey is offering a casual rate of $40.34 per hour (plus superannuation and generous salary packaging options).
