About the role:
We are a growing lab and are seeking a Research Assistant to support various projects in the molecular and cellular mechanism in genetic Epilepsy. Our lab uses state of the electrophysiology, imaging, stem cell and transgenic animal model research projects.
The candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties from maintaining mammalian cell cultures, applying standard molecular biology techniques for cloning ion channels in expression vectors to preparing experimental solutions.

The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor (Hons), Master of Science
- Experience with Cell cultures and expression systems
- Ability to meet deadlines and priorities and required
- Prior experience in neuroscience and cell biology
This position attracts an annual salary in the range of $66,423 (RA1) - $80,890 (RA5) commensurate with experience, plus generous superannuation of 14% or the option of 17% (subject to an employee co-contribution) in accordance with The Florey Union enterprise agreement. Employees are also eligible for substantial salary packaging (including living expenses, meal entertainment, accommodation, electronic devices, car parking and motor vehicles), together with three paid Institute days, annual leave loading, purchased annual leave, parental leave, and further benefits.
