About the role:
We are seeking a motivated Animal Technician to provide support to research staff by care and husbandry of experimental animals, maintenance of lab and experiment assistance.
This role will work as part of the Preclinical Critical Care Unit, part of our Discovery Science Theme.

The successful candidate will be passionate about animal ethics, a team player who is adaptable and customer focused. Prior experience handling research animals in an experimental laboratory or on and kknowledge in a Medical Research Institute are highly desirable.
This position will be paid at the classification level of Higher Education Worker (HEW)1.1 to HEW 3.6 plus superannuation of 14% or 17% (subject to an employee co-contribution) in accordance with the Institute’s generous enterprise agreement. Employees are also eligible for substantial salary packaging (including living expenses, meal entertainment, accommodation, electronic devices, car parking and motor vehicles), three paid Institute days, annual leave loading, purchased annual leave, parental leave, and further benefits.
