Autism

Autism Victoria offers information about Autism Spectrum Disorders, advice about services, professional family counselling and support, details about education and training programs conducted in Victoria, library, family activities, promotional materials, and representation. Autism Victoria is able to assist families and professionals, as well as interested members of the general public worldwide, with a focus on Victorian services.

Dementia

Alzheimer's Australia Vic is the peak body representing the interests of people affected by dementia in Victoria. Its mission is to provide leadership in dementia policy, risk reduction and services. Alzheimer’s Australia Vic provides support for people affected by dementia, their families and carers, in addition to education services for the community and professionals. Alzheimer’s Australia Vic’s state-wide specialised, responsive and innovative services emphasise information, support and education.

Depression

beyondblue is a national, independent, not-for-profit organisation working to address issues associated with depression, anxiety and related substance use disorders in Australia. beyondblue is a bipartisan initiative of the Australian, State and Territory Governments with the key goals of raising community awareness about depression and reducing stigma associated with the illness. beyondblue works in partnership with health services, schools, workplaces, universities, media and community organisations, as well as people living with depression, to bring together their expertise.

Huntington’s disease

Australian Huntington’s Disease Association VIC (AHDA) promotes the needs and interests of people affected by Huntington disease. AHDA aims to increase understanding and knowledge in the community of HD, ensure people affected by HD have access to quality information, and assist with appropriate support and advice. 

Mental illness

SANE Australia is an independent national charity helping people affected by mental illness through campaigning, education and research. SANE conducts innovative programs and campaigns to improve the lives of people living with mental illness, their family and friends. It also operates a busy Helpline and website, which have thousands of contacts each year from around Australia.

Mental Illness Fellowship is Victoria's leading membership-based not-for-profit organisation working with people with mental illness, their families and friends to improve their well being.

Multicultural Mental Health Australia provides translated mental health information for people from culturally and liguistically diverse backgrounds.

Motor neuron disease

Motor Neuron Disease Association of Victoria (MND Victoria) assists people with MND, their carers, family and friends through Family Support Services. Information is provided about MND, support services and research via telephone, printed material, personal contact, the Internet, videotapes and group meetings.

Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s Victoria is the peak body representing the needs and interests of people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers in Victoria. Parkinson’s Victoria provides information, support, education and advocacy services.

Stroke

The National Stroke Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that works with the public, Government, health professionals, patients, carers and stroke survivors to reduce the impact of stroke on the Australian community. The National Stroke Foundation is aiming to save 110,000 Australians from death and disability over the next 10 years by using evidence based research and educating our community about stroke and prevention.
