- Neurogenetics Laboratory led by Dr Justin Rubio

Australian Statistics
- 1 in 1300 Australians has MS.
- There are around 15,000 people with MS in Australia.
- Tasmania has a higher incidence of MS than mainland Australia.
- MS is the most common cause of neurological disability for Australian men and women between the ages of 15 and 55.
- Around 10% of MS patients have difficulty either holding a book or newspaper, have blurred vision, or other disability.
- According to the World Health Organization, MS affects around 2.5 million people worldwide and is the most prevalent inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system in young adults.
