Australian Statistics
- 1 in 5 Australians will experience depression at some time in their lives.
- Women are twice as likely to suffer from depression as men.
- Around one million Australian adults and 100,000 young people live with depression each year.
- Children report much higher rates of depression in Australia than adults, with around 20% suffering from depressed mood and 5% from a depressive disorder.
