The University of Melbourne Postgraduate Association Inc. (UMPA) is the student representative body for postgraduates at the University of Melbourne. UMPA has over 9,000 members including all Grad Dip, Postgrad Dip, Masters, PhD and other doctoral students. UMPA speaks up within the University and in the wider community to help postgraduates and improve postgraduate education, research and welfare.

School of Graduate Studies - University of Melbourne

SGS has a major role in the administration of the University’s research higher degrees. SGS is responsible for administering all PhD candidates, as well as Masters by Research students in science. All other postgraduate degrees, diplomas and certificates are administered by the relevant faculties. The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) provides enrichment programs and facilities for all postgraduate students at the University of Melbourne. The School aims to enhance the quality of postgraduate education through targeted academic support, policy development and performance monitoring.
