History of the Postdoctoral Association
The Postdoctoral Association of the Howard Florey Institute (PAHFI) was founded in 2006 to represent the professional interests of the postdoctoral community within the Howard Florey Institute. The association was established to provide networking opportunities amongst the research and senior research officers within the Institute, as well as between other biomedical institutions situated in the Parkville precinct. Initiatives organised by PAHFI include a number of career-related activities designed to benefit the scientist establishing themselves as independent researchers.
Florey Postdoctoral Association (FPA)
In 2009, the Howard Florey Institute was amalgamated with the Brain Research Institute and the National Stroke Research Institute to form the Florey Neurosciences Institute. This led to the formation of the Florey Postdoctoral Association to represent the professional interests of the postdoctoral community within all three institutes. The aim of the Florey Postdoctoral Association remains to 1) foster interactions between post docs and peers within and outside the Institute as well as between post docs and the Executive. And 2) provide information and training to assist post docs with their career development. For a list of current planned events, please see below;
