The neuro cardiovascular laboratory looks at nerve damage that is often stimulated during heart attack. During an attack the heart beats faster and the resulting nerve damage can result in sudden death. The laboratory examines the way the brain is involved through this process.
The laboratory further examines cell death in heart attack and is looking at novel drugs to minimise damage to the heart and other organs.
