FNI’s Fundraising team has won the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) Victorian Award for Excellence in the category Bequests Campaign, Division B (organisations with annual revenue above $5 million). “This is a wonderful finale to a long career in fundraising,” said Bequest Officer Helen Whyte, who has decided to retire at the end of 2010.

FIA’s awards promote ethical and successful fundraising practices based on FIA’s Principles and Standards of Fundraising Practice. Entries are considered against a prepared marking schedule and points are awarded on how well the criteria have been met.

Director of Fundraising and Marketing Jenni Elliott said: “We really worked as a team to develop the brief and our designers The Hothouse came up with a wonderful campaign title “Think About It”. This has now been rolled out to encompass all of our marketing collateral, including the Annual Report and Major Gift campaign brochures.”

Applications were invited across eight categories for organisational awards at state level, and all state winners now progress for consideration to national awards. National FIA Award winners will be announced at the FIA’s 34th International Fundraising Conference in Melbourne in February, 2011, and will then progress for consideration to the global awards, to be announced at the International Fundraising Congress (IFC) in the Netherlands in 2011.
