Fulltime Public Health Senior Project Manager: 12 month appointment
Florey Neuroscience Institutes (FNI) is an amalgamation of the Brain Research Institute, National Stroke Research Institute and Howard Florey Institute and has expanded with the development of a state of the art facility in partnership with the Mental Health Research Institute and University of Melbourne.
A Senior Project Manager is sought to play a major role in several health services research projects in stroke at Florey Neuroscience Institutes - Stroke Division (Austin campus). The successful candidate will manage the AuSCR (Australian Stroke Clinical Registry) project a nationwide stroke registry established in Australia, and the Stroke123 NHMRC partnership project which involves the use of AuSCR and other datasets for stroke across Australia. The AuSCR register is a web-tool used to collect a minimum data set of acute care information including the treatment and outcomes of all hospitalised patients who have had a stroke or transient ischaemic attack. The candidate is also expected to contribute to finalising the Victorian Stroke Telemedicine project.
The applicant is required to have:

Previous experience in successfully managing large collaborative research projects in health amongst a multidisciplinary team and in different geographical locations

Skills for appropriately managing and maintaining project documentation, ethical and regulatory requirements and patient data

The ability to make decisions based on sound judgment

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work

Proficient computing and analytical skills

The successful candidate must have:

A relevant qualification in health or science preferably with post-graduate qualifications

Proof ofdeveloped project management skills

Proof of oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; and the capacity to successfully complete several tasks concurrently and achieve deadlines

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direct junior staff

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Familiarity with data management systems including online tools

Experience with ethics applications

Excellent computer skills and attention to detail

Interest and knowledge in web-based technologies for data capture
Desirable:

Prior experience undertaking research in stroke or cardiovascular disease

Post-graduate public health, epidemiology/biostatistics qualifications (e.g PhD)

Clinical background in allied health, medicine or nursing

Experience in clinical quality registry applications or large online databases

Peer-reviewed publications

Experience with competitive grant attainment

Experience with web-based technologies for data capture
Salary range: SRO1 to SRO3 - $76,676 to $ 82,428 (neg depending on experience). Salary packaging available. 1 year appointment, immediate commencement available.
