Salary Packaging Benefits
The Florey offers salary packaging to all its eligible employees where they can salary package expenses from a list of approved items. The Florey is exempt from having to pay FBT up to a capping limit of $15,900 each FBT year (1 April – 31 March) on salary packaging benefits provided to employees. Salary packaging can therefore increase the employee’s net salary.
Some of the approved salary packaging expense items include:
- Mortgage or rent payments;
- School fees;
- Personal loan repayments;
- Health Insurance premiums;
- Credit card monthly payment reimbursement;
- HELP (formerly HECS) repayments;
- Payment of utilities.
Staff can also salary package certain benefits that are not subject to FBT, over and above the $15,900 capping limit, including:
- Work-related expenses;
- Additional superannuation contributions;
- Meal Entertainment;
- Venue hire/accommodation.
